Transitional Independent Living Programs

The Centre of Hope will offer Transitional Independent Living Programs for those who need specific support in areas like life skills, mental health, anger management, and more. The programs are designed for those who want to make substantial lifestyle changes.Participants will have access to a larger space containing an office where they can stay for the duration of the program. These will accommodate 30 people.

The Transitional Independent Living Programs teach participants to develop the motivation and structure to regain independence and resilience when confronted by challenges and the drive to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We offer guidance and activation training to facilitate change and to help individuals avoid a return to a shelter environment.

We offer classes that teach practical skills in:

  • preparing for a job
  • housing search
  • food shopping and preparation
  • money management
  • and more

Participants have the option of also participating in a spirituality or personal development course once a week.

Lastly, participants receive individual life skills coaching sessions geared to employment, education, and/or housing needs. The life skills coach will help participants discover, set, and maintain focus on their goals.
