Welcome to the new website for the Salvation Army’s new Centre of Hope Ottawa, a place for hope and transformation.

We’re excited to be launching this new space today as means to update you, the community, about the progress of this exciting project.

Four years ago, on November 22, 2017, the City of Ottawa approved the Salvation Army’s development application to build a new state-of-the-art, purposefully built facility to better accommodate Ottawa’s most vulnerable population.

This approval came after a series of consultations with hundreds of community residents, clients, elected officials, local businesses, program partners, and community organizations. The Salvation Army has since been working hard with Hobin Architecture to incorporate this feedback, as well as feedback from recent consultations with Indigenous clients at the Ottawa Booth Centre and Ottawa Inner City Health, into the latest project site plan.

Today, we’re able to share with you a glimpse into what the proposed site plan, currently under review by the City of Ottawa, looks like with our newest renderings. These renderings showcase layouts of our emergency shelter rooms, apartment-style supportive housing and transitional independent living spaces, multi-purpose rooms and courtyards accessible to the community to book meetings, classes, language training, family activities, and more.

The new Centre of Hope Ottawa is designed to accommodate a continuum of care to help ensure people have the tools they need to get back on their feet and the support they deserve as they take one step at a time towards a hope filled future.

We welcome you to check back here as we continue to provide updates as they happen. In the meantime, we welcome you to contribute to the Salvation Army’s Community and Family Services programs as well as children’s summer camp through our Red Kettle Christmas Campaign, and Toy Mountain!
